September 2005 Issue. Editor/ Webmaster Randy Hawkins - email orvy@bellsouth.net

The meeting was called to order at 6:37PM
There were 17 members present, 3 guests, and 3 applicants.

Officer Reports :
Secretary - The club lost a member, but nothing other than that.

Treasurer - No income for the month.
Some small SEFF expenses and $2700.00 for field improvements.
The ending balance [ ask the treasurer.]

President - Nothing to report

Vice Pres. - Nothing to report.

SEFF Update : We are going to be having 50 - 65 of the pagers, not the 70 we had planned on.
The event staff will have yellow shirts. We are still encouraging new club members to lend a hand at the event. May 4,5,6,7 of 2006. Early registration will be opening for the event in a few weeks.

Special Reports : Christmas party, the fee for the room has undergone an increase to $250 - $300. The dates that we will be looking into are December 4th, 11th, 17th or 18th. With the 4th as 1st choice and the 11th as 2nd choice.\ [It's on the 18th.]

Old Business : Field improvements, the trees have been removed from the end of the runway. The rough grading is done, the finish grading will begin soon. There will be an 18' X 36' aluminum cover for spectators and a 10' X 13' utility shed. The club will be purchasing a grille and a 100lb propane tank. A porta potty is going to be delivered soon and the road gravel is on order. The family has asked that we cap the club at 80 memberships until they can get a feel for what it is going to be like having that many people driving past their house. That number may be adjusted up in the future, but for now 80 is the limit.

Also, the following restrictions have been voted on and passed, no true turbines (fire hazard), no helicopters. Tom Huckaby is making a frequency control board and Paul DeWaard is constructing plane tables.

By Laws, it is still being discussed about how to work out a system to help encourage membership participation in field duties and SEFF.

New Business : Having Bill Divins mention to the Hobby Stop guys that we would like them to try staying open until 8PM on Fridays.
Don't forget the PTC air show October the 8th and 9th. It will be approximately 1 month before the runway is fully functional, but you can fly now.

Officer elections, everyone tries to avoid service, so we are looking at a bylaw change that will address keeping the current slate of officers unless there is a challenger or a current officer is no longer willing to serve. This will avoid the mess of going through the nominations and seconding that ends up with the same guys at the helm again and a lot of wasted time to get there.

Broken Prop Award : No Nominations.

New members : Steve Hicks and Paul Burdett were both voted into the club.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25PM
