Meeting Minutes for September 30th

The meeting was called to order by President David Keller at 7:30PM with 14 members in attendance at the old Fayetteville High school.

Officer Reports

Treasurer David Zeigler went over the club’s financial report for September 2004. The club had only one expense and that was for our storage rental. No other officer reports at this time.

Special Reports

President David Keller discussed the status of the Tillman Road property that the club was trying to get approval for flying rights. David said two of the three owners had agreed and were just waiting on the third owner give his approval.

Our club has a meeting with the Fayette County Commissioners on October 14th at 7:00PM for 15 minutes to discuss our need for a flying site during the Land Use meeting. David said he would like to have a meeting with interested club members to go over his proposal to the commissioners and to get as many club members to attend the meeting as possible.

Old Business

To look into changing the Bylaws to relax our rules on the number of visits a guest can come to our field per year prior to being requested to join the club. Put on hold till we find a field.

The proposal to extend all current club memberships until we secure a field, then Prorate the 2005 membership dues was discussed and agreed to enact it at the time we find a field.

The proposal to purchase a 9-month no-risk CD at 1.75% with no penalty for early withdrawal was discussed, formalized as a proposal, seconded, voted on and passed. Treasurer David Zeigler was charged with taking care of this issue.

New Business

It was brought up that not enough people in the club were actively looking for a new field for the club. We need more help. David Keller proposed that we start up a monthly meeting for a committee to find potential flying sites.

The 2005 SEFF budget was discussed, voted on and approved.

No Broken Prop Awards or New Members at this meeting.
