Meeting Minutes for May 26, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by President Tommy Vinci at the old Fayetteville High School.  There were 11 members in attendance.

Officer Reports:

Treasurer David Keller went over the finance report for the month of May.  Vice President Ernie Schlumberger filled in for Secretary Jim Beck but had nothing to report except to mention that it would be nice to hold the meeting at our flying field.  Everyone agreed.  The next club meeting will be held at the flying field and the High school will be the backup location.

Old Business:

The business of setting a date for this year’s family cookout was discussed again.  A motion was put forth to hold the Family Cookout on Saturday June 25th and to hold the club meeting on the same day so that the members would come out to the field and fly.  The food will be served at 1:00PM with the meeting following lunch.  The club will provide the main food but it is asked that everyone bring a side dish or dessert with serving utensil.  Also bring your own chairs, canopies and some planes to fly.

New Business:

Tommy Vinci informed the club that the wood from our old shelter is rotting at Charles Perkins house and we need to find a permanent field to install it at before it is ruined.  Any leads on a field should be forwarded to the club officers so they can check into to possibility of using the field.  This month’s AMA magazine had a good article on finding a club flying site.  Hopefully we can find one soon.

Tommy Vinci also talked about the GA Jets flying site as being a possible location to hold SEFF in the next years.  He said the GA Jets have plans to enlarge and improve the field, which might make it usable for SEFF.

Broken Prop:

None this month.  We need to get out to the field so we can get some new nominations!
