Fayette Flyers Meeting Minutes
January 2006 Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM
There were 24 members present and 4 guests or applicants.
Officer Reports :
Secretary - Our membership is currently at 66 families with 79 flyers.
The 2006 renewals should be going out shortly.
Treasurer - Most of the out going expenses have been to get the field up and
ready. The rest of the CD has been cashed in and placed in the
general fund. Leaving us with approximately ask [treasure for amount] in the
bank.
It has been estimated that the club needs between 5 and 7 thousand dollars per
year to maintain the local events and the flying site.
President - There are some sign on order for the flying site and the gate will
be up soon.
Vice Pres. - Nut tin'
Special Reports : A calendar of events was worked out during an officer meeting
and a summary will be sent out with the renewals.
We will talk to Mike McGowan about possible dates for the King Peach.
SEFF Update : 45 pilots have pre-registered. The first planning meeting took
place the previous week. There will be another one in February on the 16th. Now
is the time to start asking for volunteers.
Old Business : Tom Huckaby and David Keller to work on the new field rules.
New Business : There was a lively discussion about the possible change in the
dues structure. Followed by a vote. The proposed changes were rejected by a 14
to 10 vote.
Due to the smaller number of members and the required budget of the club the
officers have rescinded their free dues for the foreseeable future.
Since the proposed dues changes were defeated a dues increase to $100.00 per
family membership was proposed, seconded, and passed. This was to allow the club
to remain solvent and viable with or without the SEFF income.
It was also passed that the club meetings will now start at 7:00PM starting
with the February meeting. This has the added benefit of allowing more flying
time after the meetings when they are held at the field.
Earl Robinson rejoined the club and Brian Searles rejoined the club. Both
members were voted in with only the single obligatory no vote.
Broken Prop Award : None
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00PM
