January 2005 Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM.
There were 11 members present and no guests or applicants.
Officer Reports :
Secretary - The membership currently stands at 74 members.
There have been 47 renewals and 5 comped memberships.
The renewal cut off is March 31st.
Treasurer - No activity over the last month.
Some minor year end expenses are due in.
The club gave a $1000 donation to the "Adopt a Platoon" charity.
The ending balance for the club is [ worthy of this Great club.]
President - The Christmas dinner went great and everyone loved the "sweet" tours
that were given before the dinner.
Webmaster - Currently rebuilding the the web page after moving it to a new
server.
We can now post video and other content.
The site should be soon fleshed out.
Field Update :
Flannery Farms LLC, nice facility, paved road all the way around.
There was a way to get in without going through the gate, but that may
be closed off soon.
Plenty of room, no hassles about getting in through the gate.
DO NOT DRIVE ON THE RUNWAY.
SEFF Update :
60 pre registered pilots. 40% of the vendor tables are already rented.
There will be a planning meeting the 1st week of February. An email
reminder will be sent out. If you are available to volunteer you do
NOT have to come to the planning meetings. Just drop Jeff Meyers an
email. We have to fill at least 32 helper positions. The raffle
prizes are posted on the koolflighsystems.com website. For 2, 2 hour
shifts plus 1 hour on parking you get a comped room and a BBQ ticket.
Some of the extra activities this year includes a poker tournament
hosted by Dave Thacker from Radical RC and the SEFF Brickyard Golf
Tournament, host by Gary Wright. Billed as the best 18 holes of golf
you will ever shoot at an RV park.
Misc. Updates :
The King Peach is going to be held at Earl's (actually Chuck's) place
this year.
New Business :
Field off Sandy Creek still possible as an electric only field.
Fayette County sent an email stating that they could not find any
suitable land for us.
The 4H facility looks like it may be too cramped.
The landfill has also been removed as a possibility.
So far no leads have really gone anywhere.
Randy Hawkins has a possible new lead and will keep us posted.
The indoor events are back for the 19th of both February and March.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25PM
