Meeting Minutes for July 31, 2003 by Ernie Schlumberger

President, Tommy Vinci brought the meeting to order at the Old Fayetteville High School instead of the field due to bad weather. The meeting started at 7:30p.m. with 15 members in attendance.

Officer Reports:

Vice President, Paul DeWaard, New Member/Training Officer, David Keller, and Secretary, Ernie Schlumberger had nothing new to report.

Treasurer, Dave Zeigler went over the Financial Report for the month of July. The Club had income from the events and  expenses from Event Expenses, Porta Potty and Field Runway Improvements, which leaves a total of all Accounts of [Dollar figures removed for security contact Treasurer for exact amounts. Further vested financial results will not be posted in the Fly Paper.]

Old Business:

President, Tommy Vinci discussed the improvements to the runway. He said he was impressed how good it looks since the Rock hound and Hydro-seeding was done. He explained that it took a little longer than planned due to the weather, but it was worth it.

Special Reports:

Tom Huckaby (Cub Event Coordinator) reported that all the people that came to the Cub Event said they had a good time. Tom made a motion to Donate $100.00 to the Griffin Club for the extra work they did to prepare their field for us to hold our Cub Event there. The motion was seconded and voted on and passed. Dave Zeigler will write a check for Tom to give to the Flying Griffin’s President.

Jeff Meyers (SEFF Event Coordinator) said several magazine articles are due out about SEFF including one already posted on www.ezonemag.com. Quiet Flyer also released their article with a complete pullout section about SEFF. They did an extremely Good Job.

Dave Zeigler said the AMA Magazine "Model Aviation" recently had an article about the Science Olympiad. Dave coached several of the Top Ten Winners again this year.
